Public servants throughout the PNG can expect an increase in wages in 2014. Treasurer Don Poyle, while presenting a K15 billion budget yesterday, said the Government recognised the work carried out by public servants so it welcomed the concept of pay increase. "In respect to public servant wages, the budget makes allowances for anticipated new awards which are expected to commence in 2014," Mr Poyle said. The first of such wage increases for next year was announced last month which was for a 10 percent increase in teachers salaries and allowances.
