Police Commissioner, Tom Kulunga, is concerned about the media spreading false rumours.
In a statement this afternoon, Commissioner Kulunga referred to an online news story by the Post Courier with the headline “Police mum on O’Neill’s arrest”, saying he was concerned that particular news organizations were creating news, rather than reporting it. Commissioner Kulunga said the report was factually incorrect; that it was normal protocol for departmental heads to see off and receive the prime minister when he goes on international travel; and that there was no private meeting with the PM, as reported in the web news story. He called on the media organisation to explain itself. Comments are closed.
