The PNG LNG Project will soon be asked to assist supply electricity into the
city of Port Moresby as well as the resource areas in a bid to cut down on the numerous power black outs experienced by PNG Power in the country. Prime Minister Peter O'Neill made the call yesterday, during the loading of the first LNG shipment. He says, since the LNG is currently producing its own reliable power and water supply, they should start looking at supplying some of it into Port Moresby, as well as the resource areas of Hela, Southern Highlands, Gulf and the Central Province. Mr Oneill says the LNG project also has, much potential to venture into other areas as well, and these options will also be looked into in the near future. Exxon Mobil's CEO Peter Graham when responding said they stand ready to assist when and wherever possible. Comments are closed.
