Health Authorities in the country have sounded out a public warning urging people to immediately see a doctor if they face Ebola like symptoms.
The symptoms of this deadly virus include fever, severe headache, muscle pain, diarrhea, stomach pain and unexplained bleeding or bruising. This warning comes after the news of a Queensland nurse in Australia being quarantined in a Cairns hospital, for suspected Ebola. The nurse, 56-year-old Sue-Ellen Kovack, returned to Australia last weekend from treating patients in the Ebola hotspot of Sierra Leone, where she worked with the Red Cross. Following a high temperature on Thursday, she was assessed by an infectious disease specialist at Cairns Base Hospital, where she works and underwent blood tests. Her blood has tested negative for the disease, meaning she did not contract the deadly virus, while working with infected patients, however, will remain in observation for the next 24 hours and not given the all-clear, until the incubation period ends.
