Members of parliament have heaped praises for the government for the long awaited Climate Change Amendment bill which got tabled today in parliament by Minister John Pundari. The bill aims to protect, promote and ensure we address effectively issues relating to climate change, our people our forests our rivers and our land. Grand Chief Sir Michael Somare was backed by Powes Parkop and Sir Puka Temu in asking the government to make the bill a reality for people already feeling the effects of Climate Change and make it their business to go down to the locals in rural areas and inform them of what the government is doing to assist them.
