The government will be setting up a new task force to control an anticipated increase in illegal alcohol and tobacco in the country.
The government is increasing taxes from alcohol and tobacco, as part of its revenue making efforts. Treasurer, Patrick Pruaitch says, the government is mindful that increasing taxes on alcohol and tobacco may drive people to resort to illicit drugs and alcohol as an alternative. Mr. Pruaitch says, as a result, the government will be setting up the new task force in 2017 to combat illegal alcohol and tobacco and its use.
