Papua New Guinea's high court has found no wrongdoing by former prime minister Peter O'Neill. The court found Peter O'Neil not Guilty of the charge of abuse of office laid against him. The court made the ruling after the state prosecutor did not prove beyond reasonable doubt that any breach of the law including the public finance management act occurred during the purchase of the Two turbo diesel engine generators in 2014 when he was the prime Minister. Mr O'Neil was, arrested in 2020 by police and was trialled on one count of abuse of office.
The charge against Mr O'Neil was dismissed by the court yesterday, (Thursday October14th, 2021). O'Neil expressed great satisfaction when speaking to the media after his case was dismissed. Next : PNG PM Marape Assures 2020 General Election Funding Comments are closed.
