PNG's first export of the Liquified Natural Gas, has made it the 20th
exporter in the world LNG market. Prime Minister Peter O'Neil announced this, after returning from Japan where the first LNG was delivered. A Japanese customary ceremony was held upon the arrival of the gas. Mr. O'Neil says being the 20th exporter is an important privilege for PNG. "This is an exclusive club, and we are privilege to join that club. "I hope that we will expand on this in future. "With the projects on line, there is enough confidence, that PNG will be a major player in the oil and gas industry around the world. "I want to take this opportunity to thank the landowners and people of Southern Highlands and Hela provinces, and the leaders, especially the Governors, to making sure this project is a success," O'Neil told reporters at the Jacksons International Airport this afternoon. He also thanked the previous Somare Government for the PNG LNG Project. A second LNG shipment is on its way to Taiwan. Comments are closed.
