PNG Trade Union President, John Paska, has response to the last week’s calling by Deputy Opposition leader, Sam Basil to have him stood down.
This came after the selling of PNG Power Limited last week in which Sam Basil also called on State Enterprises Minister Ben Micah, to be sacked. Paska told reporters that he will not step down, saying the Opposition has failed miserably in informing the people of Papua New Guinea on the issues of privatization. “If there’s anybody that needs to be sacked, it’s him; If there’s anybody that needs to resign, it’s him. He further added "He has failed miserably, as a deputy opposition leader to inform the general public so we can engage in a meaningful debate about Privatization. Sam Basil was still wet behind the years when the Trade Union took up the fight on Privatization." "We have engaged very constructively on the issue of Privatization." Mr Paska said, Mr Basil utterances so far indicate that he does not understand the issue of Privatization and all he is doing is making hot air and using other as a scapegoat for his inefficiency” Comments are closed.
