The Opposition is mourning the passing of late Sir James Neng Eng Tjoeng.
Leader Don Pomb Polye today joined others to convey his sincere condolences to Lady Tjoeng, their children and family on the passing of Sir James.
“Our prayers are with the family of this great man during this period of sympathy,” said Mr Polye on behalf of his family, the people of Kandep and the executives of Triumph Heritage Empowerment party with its supporters nationwide.
Mr Polye said the late Sir James was a pioneer and a local businessman whose contribution would also be missed by PNG’s business sector.
“His contribution in both the private and public sectors will forever be remembered.
“May God continue to shed shadow of peace, guide and comfort to the immediate relatives of late Sir James. We pray that his soul may rest in eternal peace,” Mr Polye said.
He said Sir James had played an important leadership role in the expansion of PNG’s flag carrier Air Niugini in the Asia-Pacific region, adding that his invaluable contribution was something that time and circumstances would not erase.
Polye said he knew about this successful businessman in his capacity as the former minister for Works, Transport and Civil Aviation.
