The Opposition is very concern of the people of Bougainville saying the PNG Government has forgotten and ignored the implementation of priorities and issues listed in the Bougainville Peace Agreement. Opposition Leader Don Polye is calling on the National Government to start addressing the Agreement as it is a major factor contributing to the development of the Region especially the young people who are not getting any form of education and are suffering. He said the last ABG Referendum Summit held in Kokopo late last year was deferred following lack of funding from the PNG Government from the K500million which was allocated for the Referendum. Mr Polye said out of that K500million, only K100million was given for restoration works in the Region while the outstanding K400million is yet to be paid. The Opposition leader is calling on the PM to seriously address this issue to help the people of Bougainville and assured that in 2019 when the Referendum takes place, the Autonomous Bougainville Government will redirect attention to the Agreement which is still to be completed by the PNG Government.
