Prime Minister, Peter O'Neill, has assured Papua New Guineans of improved living standards in the new year.
In his Christmas message, Mr. O'Neill says the decentralization of funds to the District and Local Level Government administrations will see an improvement in the quality of basic services available to the rural majority. He says, the underlying objective of decentralizing the funds is to reduce waste and abuse of public funds, which in turn will allow people to see the tangible evidence of the funds allocated for their areas. The Prime Minister says by next year the country's first Liquid Natural Gas project will be in full operation, delivering much needed energy to countries such as China, Japan, and Korea. He says the export of gas will bring in revenue of proportions that will transform the country's fast growing economy. O'Neill says government has prepared for that by working with experts in developing the Sovereign Wealth Fund, which will safeguard PNG's wealth and secure the future. Peter O'Neill assured the nation, he has total confidence the new year will be one of real progress and achievement for the nation and its people. Comments are closed.
