Lead investigator and Director of the Criminal Investigation Directorate, Peter Guinness, confirmed that the suspect in shooting dead of Moania Pisimi in Lae last month is a police officer, PNG Loop reports. The suspect is not from the Security Company that involved in the shooting incident as claimed by the media.
The alleged suspected has been arrested and charged yesterday afternoon. The suspect was questioned by investigators and officially arrested and charged with murder in the afternoon. Lae’s acting Metropolitan police commander Chief Inspector Thomas Pomaso said the policeman is now under police custody awaiting court appearance. Pomaso named the suspect as first constable Jack Baria from Madang. Meanwhile, Guinness and his team are expected to fly back to Port Moresby tomorrow to finalise their report on the investigations.
