A vaccine will be introduced later this year, to help women against the cervical cancer.
The new Human Papilloma Virus or H-P-V vaccine will help the prevention of cervical cancer among women. The vaccine will be introduced in the NCD later in March. The vaccine will help prevent young girls from getting HPV infections and cervical cancer later in life. For the vaccine to be more effective, women and girls are advised to take it when they are young, before they start a family because younger girls tend to develop stronger immunity to HPV than older women. The HPV vaccine is very safe, and it is effective at preventing Human Papillomavirus The vaccine is approved by the National Department of Health and the World Health Organisation and has been used in more than one hundred and twenty countries across the world. Meantime, parents and guardians are urges to make sure their daughter receives the HPV from her school, selected health clinic or satellite sites.
