Investigations into the recent HB shootings, while still on-going has a new twist and this time NCD police investigators are denied access to vital information for their investigations, with key witnesses refusing provide statements into the shootings.
Their refusal to provide their statements is causing unnecessary delays into the investigations, and already Deputy Police Commissioner and Chief of Operations Jim Andrews is aware and is sounding an appeal to all key witnesses to put aside their differences and provide key information to investigators to fast track their investigations. “I have been informed of the key witness’s refusal to bring in their statements as their names have all been submitted to the village elders. I am calling on the witnesses to put aside village politics and assist the investigations,” Mr. Andrews said. Mr. Andrews said he believes that key witnesses are reluctant to assist the investigations because the people are frustrated that monies given by NCDC and the government for the “house krai” for the late HB victims were not equally distributed.
