Investigations into the bombing at the NCD Metropolitan Commander Ben Turi’s residence last Thursday will be headed by a team of investigations who will be flown into Port Moresby from Lae and Madang according to the Director for Crimes Moses Ibsagi. There were no casualty reports but it endangered the lives of Turi’s children. He said Port Moresby based investigators are busy and are over stressed with the workload therefore they have identified investigators and have requested for them to be relieved temporarily from their tasking for 2 to 3 weeks to commence the findings into the incident. He said they are expected to arrive in Port Moresby this week however their travel must be authorized by their respective command. Ibsagi has assured that police have a number of leads into the bombing. He said formal investigations have not commenced however the incident is believed to be interrelated to the tough stances the Police commissioner has taken to rid the constabulary of rogue officers. Police commissioner Gari Baki said the bombing incident and the threat message he received last week may be related to the officers linked to the Tatana and Hanuabada Shooting of villagers last year. Furthermore Ibsagi also expressed similar views stating that at this stage it is a possibility because the truth has not been established by a thorough investigation based on facts and evidence.
