NCD Police reopens Vision City Post

​The police post within the Vision City shopping centre premises in the National Capital District is now open after being closed for more than five years.
The National Capital District Metropolitan Superintendent Silva Sika opened the post again early this month after discussions with the management of Vision City.
Mr Sika said they have agreed to reopen the police post for police officers to serve the public who frequent the shopping centre. He said the Sector Patrol units from the Moresby North East Electorate, under the command of Zone Two Commander, Chief Inspector Toby Hamago, will assign his officers who are working in their respective shifts to use the police post.

Mr Sika said the police post is in a central location so it is good that when the police officers are there they can respond to calls from victims or respond to crimes around the city.
Vision City Mall General Manager Anderson Mall was pleased to hand over the police post key to Mr Sika. He said the facility is well equipped with computers, air conditioning, a holding cell and CCTV cameras so it will help the police a lot to do their job when using the facility.
He said the facility was in use when Ben Turi was the NCD Metsupt but when he left the police officers who were working there also left. He said he was pleased with the new Metsupt’s idea of re-opening it for the police officers to use.
The mall’s Security Manager, Sevania Koroi, was also pleased with Mr Sika for the idea of reopening the police post which will make it easy for the security personnel to work closely with the police officers to maintain the premises as well as the surrounding areas.
Mr Koroi said it is a great start and he is looking forward to working with the officer in charge of Sector Patrol 200 from the Moresby Northeast Electorate, Sergeant Jimmy Naime, to make sure police presence is seen around Vision City and the nearby government offices.
