The National Capital District goes to the polls next Monday 4th July, without an Assistant Election Manager. This after the suspension of Roselyn Tabogani for alleged misconduct in office and releasing unauthorized information. The city of approximately close to a million, will have a one day polling with counting immediately after. Electoral Commissioner Simon Sinai suspended Ms. Tabogani last Thursday, after she was alleged to have breached the Public Service Management Act and the Public Service Code of Ethics and Conduct. Ms. Tabogani was allegedly charged for "illegally removing NCD/Central Office standby generator, and releasing authorized sensitive information to the media."
She was suspended indefinitely and given seven days to respond to her charges. Her charges mainly stem from her telling a daily in May, that "thousands of eligible voters both in NCD and across the 22 provinces may miss out on voting because of the 'electoral roll not updated on time." Ms. Tabogani told NBC News today, she has responded within the seven days to her two charges and is awaiting feedback. She said "It was only two charges. One was from a previous issue. The previous Commissioner Gamato with a genset and I sent it for service and then I was accused for it, which I don't know why they have to bring it back again. You know it was already dealt with with the management and then I was suspended. From the management, I released unauthorised sensitive information, which I didn't see anything on that. It was the fact of what we were doing and it will be the fact that people will be missing out. So across all the 22 provinces, I know managers know this and they are all talking about the same old thing. Its not a new thing. I don't know why management taking really serious on my part."
