Things are moving forward with the first undersea mining project with the developer making necessary goals to achieve this year in preparation for the project to start operation.
According to the developer, Nautilus Minerals, things are pretty much on track following the last year’s acquisition of a vessel for the operation and the joint venture with Eda Copper to develop the project. “We have plans underway for 2015 after all the formalities were agreed and signed off by concerned parties last year and we are in the process of building and completing our corporate plans,” the company said. It is understood that corporate plans for the operational phase should be complete by the end of February and also recruitments for local staff are planned for this year for staffs to fill the Kavieng and Rabaul offices.
