Five people on board a dinghy that went adrift in Papua New Guinea on the 28th of January 2015 were found and rescued yesterday at around 5:30pm at Anir Island in New Ireland Province.
Disaster and Emergency Manager Michael Lamusan said they were picked up by searchers and brought to Anir and the New Crest Mining searchers to bring them into Namatanai. He said the five were all nationals, the boat owner and his assistant and three surveyors. Meanwhile, confirmation of their health will be provided as soon as they bring them into Namatanai.
