The new Minimum Wages Determination, is finally before Cabinet, for its
deliberation. Minister for Labour Benjamin Poponawa, receive the Report from the seven-member Minimum Wages Board, in Port Moresby yesterday. The report comes after completion of its 8 to 9 months of findings. Board's Chairperson Beverly Doiwa said the new Minimum Wages Determination has been put together through extensive public awareness nationwide, with employers of different sectors as well as civil societies. Minister Poponawa upon receiving the report, thank the members for their time and effort. " I'll take it to the NEC and we'll see what the NEC whether they will put it through or they had any objections to that I will be returning back to you.But in the meantime,as it is now, I'll accept it and take it to NEC". Meantime, NEC will announce the new minimum wages once ready.. Comments are closed.
