State Enterprise Minister Ben Micah is urging the PNG Power Workers Union to be patient, and work together with P-N-G Power Board and management as well as Independent Public Business Corporation - I-P-B-C.
This comes amid an ultimatum, given the workers to have their problems addressed before moves to partially sell the government entity. Mr Micah, said consultation process with stakeholders is underway, and, workers have been assured that the government will pay all due entitlements, after they've identified areas that will be privatised. Other issues pertaining to redundancy, and relocation of other employees are among demands put forward by the workers. But, the Minister urged the Union to prepare a submission on it's position. Meantime, Mr Micah is calling on M-P's not to politicise the issue. He said this is his last statement on issue, until he delivers a detailed report on the matter. Comments are closed.
