Public Enterprises and State Investment Minister and Kavieng M-P, Ben Micah, says he's ready to face the Leadership Tribunal.
Last week, the Ombudsman Commission referred Micah to the Public Prosecutor, over alleged misconduct in Office, between 2013 and May 2014. He told a media conference in Port Moresby today, that his People's Progress Party agreed at a recent caucus to support him in defending his integrity. The executives of the People's Progress Party have gathered to show their support to their Party Leader Ben Micah on his referral. After a brief Party Caucus Meeting, the members and executives have resolves to defend their leader's integrity. P-P-P Leader, Ben Micah told reporters he was away over seas when he was referred and only leant of it through the media upon his return. Micah in his usual relaxed mood says, he respect the Ombudsman Commission Constitutional duties, and like other leaders, he will seek legal options available to defend his integrity. " I fear no one, I only fear God,....what ever process they wish to take me through I am prepared, bring them on, I am prepared to face my allegations" NBC news understands', Public Prosecutor Pondros Kaluwin is currently studying the misconduct allegations against Ben Micah, and will decide on whether or not, to ask the Chief Justice, to appoint a Leadership Tribunal to investigate the allegations. Micah's referral relates to interference with the administration of P-N-G Power Board and Management and disobeying Ombudsman Commission instructions not to interfere with the company's control and management, for personal benefit. It also relates to the leader continuing to occupy a unit at the Grand Papua Hotel, for over two-million Kina annually, at three-thousand-and-80 Kina per day, despite advice from the I-P-B-C Board. He's also being referred for publicly denying having any knowledge of P-P-L's financial crisis, despite being informed by the Acting Chairman of P-P-L Board and the I-P-B-C Managing Director. Meantime, the People's Progress Party Caucus has resolved, Ben Micah will continue as its Party Leader amidst his referral by the Ombudsman Commission to the Public Prosecutor on misconduct charges.
