The leader of the Peoples Progress Party, Ben Micah, says his political party has NOT formed any partnership with Pangu Pati. Mr. Micah was responding to comments by Pangu leader, Sam Basil, at a news conference in Lae today, who had welcomed PPP's alignment with Pangu. This stemmed from a National Newspaper report today that the PPP, Pangu and Melanesian Alliance agreed in Kavieng to work together toward the 2017 national elections. But Ben Micah told NBC News this afternoon, PPP and Pangu have NOT forged any partnership, nor has there been any discussions either at the party or parliamentary level of such a move. Mr. Micah explained that what transpired in Kavieng was that the Pangu and Melanesian Alliance party branches have dismantled to join the People's Progress Party. He reiterates that the PPP has reinforced itself by absorbing the Pangu and Melanesian Alliance branches in his electorate.
