The Marape Government has appointed Dr Daoni Esorom as the new Deputy Controller of the National Pandemic Response. A statement from the National Control Centre says Cabinet made the appointment on the 19th of April. The position was left vacant following the death of Dr. Paison Dakulala. Dr. Esorom will support Controller David Manning to contain the rise in the COVID-19 cases. Dr. Esorom was the PNG National COVID-19 Incident Manager at the National Coordination Centre and Executive Manager - Public Health Division in the National Health Department.
He has 23 years in medical, public health, emergency medicine, business and management with extensive experiences in both project and program management in the public and private sectors.
