The Lands Minister has refuted an outburst by Moresby South M-P and Sports Minister, Justin Tkatchenko over allegations of the illegal sale of Ela Beach land portion 2-8-4-8.
Mr Tkatchenko had said the sale will deprive the public access to the beach which has been an open recreational spot for Port Moresby residents. However Minister Benny Allan said today, the land has been leased out, he has not intention to sell any state land. He further says the project will give a facelift to Ela Beach. The project which costs about 1-point-3 billion Kina, will include construction of a hotel and apartments and the beach to be stretched about 30 to 40 meters out to the sea.
