The Ministry for Health and HIV AIDS has secured a historic Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Health & Welfare in the Republic of North Korea.
“This will further enhance the service delivery reforms our Health Sector has undertaken and signifies a new era in the fields of health care & medical sciences.” These were the comments of the Health and HIV Minister Michael Malabag in a media statement released. Mr Malabag signed the MOU in Korea after finishing off the 65th session of the World Health Organizational regional Western Pacific Forum from the 13th-17th of this month. “The MOU will come into effect immediately to assist identified priority areas in public health policy, health workforce development, public health management, service delivery, drug & health care technology & international regulation practices of monitoring.” Mr Malabag added that this arrangement is mutually beneficial with exchange of staff, information, training programs & joint projects. This should definitely be a boost to service delivery to people on the ground.
