Member for Kerema Richard Mendani says, convicted Regional Member for Gulf Havila Kavo should not assume the role of Governor, while he is out on bail.
Mr. Mendani said this is because Mr Kavo's appeal against his guilty conviction, is still before the court. He said, the integrity of the office of the Governor will be put into question, if Havila Kavo performs the duties of the Governor. The Kerema MP told reporters yesterday, that the Deputy Governor Jim Pokara is now the Acting Governor.
