Northern Governor, Gary Juffa said he won't apologize for protecting his people against shops selling poor quality food at high prices. Mr. Juffa has published videos showing him raiding the shops in question and checking the Immigration status of the employees. He told Radio Australia, some of the shops maybe breaching consumer laws: "The issue here is the sale of products that are unsavory, unhealthy.A large number of complaints were received from members of the public about alot of goods that were sold would be expired that were of labeled in a foreign language which could not be read or understood by any of my people". But Ijivitari MP, David Arore said Governor Juffa's actions are out of order: "The approach he's taking, I would say is dictatorial and is unbecoming of an elected leader because I personally as the member for Ijivitari of which Popondetta town is, I see that as a mandated leader,w have systems and processes and we haven institutions in this country Papua New Guinea who handles these issues. And as elected leaders, we approach the police who are in charge of law and order".
