Juffa joins hands with Opposition to move Vote of No-Confidence against Prime Minister O'Neill26/10/2015 Party Leader of People’s Movement for Change and the Governor for Oro Province Garry Juffa has inked in his signature today to support the opposition on the Vote of No Confidence for the Prime Minister when parliament sits tomorrow. Juffa made it clear to the media at a press conference today that he is doing this as a symbol of his protest on behalf of the people of Oro and the people of this country. He says the government has not adequately made enough of an effort to protect and promote the interest of our country and its people in all levels of decision making. "For long the people have been robbed by this government and its time fro a change and for a better governance that will promote and protect the interest of citizens of this nation," said Mr Juffa. Mr Juffa also made it clear that he is now the newest meber in the opposition camp. "To contribute to an opposition that speaks on behalf of its people is a privilege and something that I am proud of," he said. "The opposition is here to reason with the government and keeping the government in check to fulfill its responsibility in promoting and protecting the interest of the people of Papua New Guinea." The Oro Governor pointed out that the interest of the people of Papua New Guinea has been suppressed and these were shown clearly in certain issues of National interest such as the PMIZ which is a clear scam, the UBS loans, granting of citizenship to fugitive Djoko Chandra and many government inquiries such as the SABL and many other reports which are not being detailed out clearly and presented to the people but are being hidden. He says this is the reason why he has joined the opposition to push for a vote of no confidence against the PM and has urged fellow MPs to do the right thing as he has done for the people’s sake. Furthermore, with Garry Juffa coming into the opposition camp and the recent compromise between Belden Namah and Opposition Leader has added strength and the solidarity that the Opposition needs. Leader of Opposition, Don Polye said today that the Opposition is not here to change a government or play political power games or become Prime Minister or Minister of State but it stands its role in providing the kind of leadership and governance that will benefit the people. Mr Polye thanked the members of the opposition for their solidarity and also said that it is not numbers that matters. He pointed out that with the little team in the opposition bench they stand together to see that the government does not run down the economy of the country and what is owed to the people must be given to the people.
