Real estate developer Glory Development Limited, has refuted media reports about it illegally obtaining a piece of land known as Portion 693 outside Port Moresby.
Lands Minister Benny Minister Allen told Parliament this week, that portions of land at the 8-Mile suburb alleged to be owned by the Glory Development will be investigated. But Glory Estate Managing Director Teck Kong Lee told the Post Courier, that the 20-hectare land Portion 693 was bought for 2-point-5 million Kina from Mae Limited, a company owned by the late Sir Albert Maori Kiki and his wife who transferred the title to the son. Mr. Kong Lee says, they are now developing the land to assist the Government’s policy on affordable housing. He says, all instruments were in order as per the purchase of the land from Mae Limited and Lands Department was also furnished copies in 2006.
