The ministerial meeting between the Hides Gas Landowners and the government didn't turn out well as expected after landowners representatives resorted to having the gas plant shut until there demand is met. Despite the minister for petroleum and the Chief Secretary reassuring them of their royalty and IDG or infrastructure development grants, the landowner reps demand that by Friday the figures verbally given to them must be given in black and white and that at least some project funding given to them. However, Finance minister James Marape told them that this would be possible only when the clan vetting process is completely thus recommends that the groups organise themselves and after 30 days they will be get things set to finally complete the process so payments can be made.
