Finance Minister, James MARAPE, without delivering a full report in Parliament today, confirmed that following discussions between Landowners of the Hela LNG Impacted Sites and the Government team, 30 days has now been proposed for the clear clan vetting process to be completed before royalty payments and other benefits can be paid out to Landowners.
He told the House that these benefits have been distributed by LAW and no other Leaders in Parliament are able and should be accessing these funds. He said a total of 135M K worth of Business Development Grants together with Royalty funds totally the same are parked at the Central Bank. A further K200M is at the MRDC and these payments will be made after the 30 days of proper LO identification is completed. For now the situation remains tense with the main entrance blocked off, but, workers have been allowed in and out of the facility at this time with operations continuing.
