The four soldiers responsible for the brutal bashing and injuring student Jeremaiah Yuni are now in police custody after they were handed to police today by the Defence Force.
PNGDF Commander Gilbert Toropo in a press conference this afternoon made it very clear that the Army will get down hard on any of its members who step out of line n cause destruction to public property or harm to the public. The army's code of discipline is straight forward for its members stating clear the dos n donts plus the consequences they will face when stepping out of line. The soldiers will be charged under civil law n when found guilty, the army will dismiss them from the force. Meantime, the Army is still continuing their investigates to find the others who were directly or indirectly involved in the incident so that they too will be dealt with.
