Former MP for the vacant Samarai Murua electorate and PNC candidate Gordon Wesley is in the lead after counting for the by-election began this morning at the Cameron Secondary School in Alotau. After count 2 Mr. Wesley leads with 1502 votes in front of runner up candidate in the 2012 general election and Pangu Party candidate Isi Henry Leonard who is on 1357. Running third in the count is Daniel Duncan with 267 and only female candidate against her male counterparts Benita Livinai is running fifth with 92 votes. Counting started at 8am and will finish at 5pm and the next team will continue from 6pm to 8pm and will finish for the day until tomorrow.
