Mr. Theo Nara , a former District Treasurer for Maprik in East Sepik Province was arrested and charged by National Fraud detectives today for a total of 18 counts relating to corruption.
National Fraud Director Matthew Damaru said his charges included 8 counts of forgery, 8 counts of uttering, and 1 count each for abuse of office and misappropriation of K400-000 from the Maprik District Treasury. After the interview with Fraud Detectives, he was taken to Boroko Cells where he was placed in the cells. Mr. Damaru said more arrest are expected soon.
