The son of a former politician and three women are among six people arrested over their alleged involvement in the K6 million May Bank robbery last year.
NCD and Central Divisional Commander Jim Andrews says the arrests were made following credible tip offs from the public. This brings the total number of arrests made so far to 18. Andrews says though investigations have slowed down due to funding woes, investigators have been keeping a tab on intelligence gathering. “Five more suspects are still on the run, but we have been reliably informed of their whereabouts and will be following up on them,” says Andrews. Funding to continue the investigations will only be made available in March which may be a setback. However, with the recent arrests made, Andrews believes that the remaining suspects on the run will be arrested. PNG Facts / PNG EDGE Comments are closed.
