Following the torching of one police vehicle along with complete damage caused to other three police vehicles as well as stone injuries to certain Police officer by Youths of Kali Tribe in the Enga Province, Police has not sent reinforcements to raid the village of the Kali Tribe. According to Provincial Police Commander (PPC), Chief Inspector George Kakas, he wanted to send his team of Police Mobile squad and Defense Force Personnel into the village to round up the youths involved but has decided not to do so. "Instead, i have sent message to the tribe leaders that after they find the body of their drowned tribesman, then I will have a meeting with them to get those responsible of damaging police vehicles to be brought to the hands of law," said PPC Kakas. PPC Kakas also says that the Kali Tribe youths threatened to shut down Sir Tei Abel Secondary School since the man who drowned is the son of a board chairman of the school. However, PPC Kakas has warned them not do and not to hold the school at ransom for the death of their tribesman and wants the school to operate as normal on Monday. "Police will be monitoring the school grounds to make sure properties are not destroyed and the school operates normal."
