The National Government will maintain its increased budgetary allocation annually to the Education sector.
Acting Education Minister, James Marape, said this sector remains a Government priority which has seen more money pumped into it, since 2009. Marape said this, when launching the Universal Basic Education Report, at the National Research Institute, in Port Moresby, yesterday (Wednesday). This is the progressive report of the 10-year Universal Education Plan, launched in 2010. Marape reports, that overall enrollment for students in the basic education sector, rose from 53 per cent to over 70 per cent. He said, the U-B-E Plan of 2010 to 2019, aims to reach 100 per cent enrollment at the basic education level, by 2020 and moving towards making education compulsory. Comments are closed.
