Police in the National Capital District are looking for the suspect involved in the death of a long serving Foreign Service Officer, who was leading preparations for the arrival of the Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
Dennis Bebego, was directly involved in preparations for Mr. Abe's visit, with his last posting as the Charge D'Affaires at the Papua New Guinea Embassy in Japan. The Japanese Prime Minister is scheduled to arrive in P-N-G this Thursday, for a two-day visit. NBC News is informed, Mr. Bebego was in his office at the Westpac Compound in Waigani on Saturday, working on the program for Mr. Abe's visit when the suspect, a colleague, attacked him. Foreign Affairs officers told NBC News, the few officers who were also working on the program at that time, could do nothing as they feared for their safety, only to call Police after the man had left the building. The acting Metropolitan Superintendent, Perou N'dranou said, the suspect is still at large and investigations are continuing. Comments are closed.
