A Judicial Review court in Waigani has temporarily stopped recommendations made by a Leadership Tribunal to suspend the Minister for Community Development and Member for Sohe, Delilah Gore.
The stay order was issued this morning. The Leadership Tribunal's recommendation to suspend the Sohe M-P for three months will now await a hearing that will review the tribunal's decision in August. Gore's lawyer argued the leadership tribunal didn't consider time spent in suspension during the leadership tribunal hearing before giving her a 3 months suspension. The recommendation was to have gone before the parliament speaker and governor general to effect. The court convenes again on November six for the hearing.
