Corruption watchdog, the Ombudsman Commission has finally cleared the Popondetta Hospital Chief Executive Officer of all allegations levelled against him.
Dr. Ganzee Gawin, has posted on his Facebook page, that his received a letter from the Ombudsman Commission, saying the allegations have no substance, and he's innocent. Dr. Gawin described the news as the best Christmas gift for him and his family and thanked God for His strength throughout the experience. He is relieved now that he's cleared, he can go ahead and do his job freely. The allegations against the C-E-O include malpractice, misappropriation, misconduct in office and sexual harassment at work place, and other minor charges, last year. Two investigations were also instituted by the Health Minister, Michael Malabag, to look into the allegations. These teams looked at the Medical Services and Standards and audited the books from January 1st 2008 to 28 February, 2013. In July this year, the Health Minister announced in Parliament that Dr. Gawin was cleared of all allegations levelled against him. Dr. Gawin also thanked Governor Gary Juffa, Sohe M-P, Delilah Gore, and his hospital staff and management for standing by him throughout the investigations, and ensuring he didn't get displaced to Daru Hospital.
