The National Capital District Commission, will start enforcing the betel-nut ban laws as of tomorrow, following the establishment of the new Enforcement Unit.
Governor, Powes Parkop and Deputy City Manager, Honk Kiap, opened up the new Enforcement Division Operation Centre, today. Mr Parkop says, since the announcement of the betel-ban, people have not been arrested or detained. He says, the centre now empowers the Commission, to prosecute those who refuse to comply with the betel nut laws and other issues of concern. "We have an enforcement unit now. "They are here not just for the buai ban, but for all the other laws and regulations that NCDC is responsible for - Health Regulation, Building Board Regulation, Litter Laws, Fiscal Planning and Liquer laws. "We have to have a capcity to enforce these laws, so that we create an environment that is good for everybody," Governor Parkop said. The Centre houses two offices for N-C-D regular and reservists police, an administration and interview room, including cell blocks and rest rooms. Comments are closed.
