![]() East Sepik Governor Allan Bird is the new National Alliance Party Leader. This follows his election today. The NA Parliamentary Wing, met at the Party Headquarters in Port Moresby today, and elected Mr. Bird as the new Party Leader. Mr. Bird's election, follows the ousting of former Party Leader and Aitape/Lumi MP, Patrick Pruaitch, during the 2022 National Election. Inside sources within the party, told NBC News that Mr. Bird was elected three votes to one, to defeat Namatanai MP, Walter Schnaubelt to take over the post.
Mr. Bird when contacted, said that he is humble by the trust and confidence bestowed on him, and he will do his best to advance the interest of the Party, going forward. He also took time to thank Mr. Pruaitch as the former Party Leader, Mr. Schnaubelt and all the party executives for bringing the party thus far.
