An Asian woman has been arrested and charged by police in the National Capital District (NCD), for illegally staying in the country.
She was released on K10,000 bail. The suspect is identified as Anita Siong Ting from Sarawak region of Malaysia, who overstayed her tourist visa in PNG. The woman, while in the country, was allegedly involved in an illicit drugs syndicate. Police raided her apartment in Downtown Port Moresby over the weekend and confiscated items which they say included illegal drugs and sex toys. NCD Central Commander Sylvester Kalaut said other charges will follow, once illicit items found in her possession are tested.
