The sacking and replacing of Ijivitari MP David Arore as Higher Education Minister, is threatening stability within the Triumph Heritage Empowerment Party, led by former Treasurer Don Polye.
Presidents of the Ijivitari Electorate, are threatening to pull out their leader from THE Party for what they say is "a failure by the Party Leader" to defend the sacking. The Presidents through their Joint District Planning and Budget Priorities Committee and chiefs, have met and made a resolution, with a petition submitted to THE Party leader's office, last week. Ijivitari L-L-G Presidents Spokesperson Jeff Taua says, their petition was to seek explanation from Mr. Polye. "Before any minister is sacked or appointed, there has to be some understanding between the Prime Minister and the party leader. "What we are talking about here is that, Don Polye did not defend David Arore, and that is what we are concerned about. "We are blaming the party leader, who should have defended David Arore from being dismissed," Mr. Taua said. Popondetta Town Mayor Norman Ivahupa says the reshuffle has also divided public servants in the province and supporters of THE Party in the Sohe and Ijivitari electorates. Comments are closed.
