Aitape-Lumi District in the Sandaun Province has experienced heavy rain for two weeks to date and most places in the district are flooded.
A concern citizen of Yakamul village in the District who doesn’t wish to be named had raised concern for the people of the area and is calling on the office of the Member and Treasury Minister Patrick Pruaitch to step in to provide some relief assistance as the Disaster office in the Province is not responding to the people suffering. Most of the food gardens were destroyed and houses washed away by the floods. With school due to start tomorrow classrooms have also been washed by thick mud and this will have an effect on classes resumption. Next News headlines
