ustralian Prime Minister, Tony Abbott, is visiting Papua New Guinea this week, in his first state visit since his election last year.
Prime Minister Peter O'Neil says he's ready to meet with his counterpart to discuss issues of mutual interest. Issues likely to be discussed include Australia's aid program and its realignment with the PNG Government’s development priorities, the Manus Regional Processing Centre, Australian Visa issue, progress of the LNG project, PNG’s assistance to Fiji elections, and trade and investment issues. Mr O’Neill will also brief Mr. Abbott on the implementation of his government's key policies, which Australia is assisting in some areas. O’Neill is also expected to host a luncheon for Mr. Abbott before he returns to Australia. Comments are closed.
