A man wanted by Police for series of crimes was killed in Lae. The body of the man was found at the back road area outside the city’s boundaries past the Malahang yesterday. The body had multiple cuts across his body. It is understood, the attackers asked the victim for gas lighter to draw him close to them. He was attacked when he approached them. The attackers chopped off his legs and hands.
Police at the scene managed to contain what could have been a spill-over of violence at the back road area. It is understood the man is a key suspect linked to at least one ethnic clash in the area. Community leaders also gathered people and talked to them, but this isn’t the first time this happened in the area. In this area, there are reports of at least one killing per month. So far five killings have been reported in Lae city.
