The Papua New Guinea Government will allocate funds to six thousand wards throughout the country as part of the National money plan next year. Over K61m has been allocated for wards under the Wards Services Improvement Program, which will mean that Ward Councillors will be held responsible for the use of these funds. Each ward is expected to receive K10,000.00. The allocation is part of the budget for provincial sector, which receives the largest of K3.6bn or 27.2% of the budget. Its an increase of just 1.1% from the 2016 Supplementary Budget.
